Family sessions are something that are relatively new to me. The families I work with are so great to let me learn, and they will never know how grateful I am for that. The Allen family were such troopers! They fought the freezing cold, and the wind-while still managing to look fabulous! I think they laughed more on this shoot than I do when I watch Forest Gump-and that is a lot of laughing! It was so much fun shooting this sweet family, I can't wait any longer to share them with you!

Steven-Senior
For the first time, I feel old. I am starting to take pictures of kids that used to be the annoying sibilings of my friends and it is so hard for me to believe! Steve has grown up to such a sweet young man, and I truly can't wait to see the great things that God has for him. I was a little nervous going into this shoot because boys tend to be a little but harder than girls, but he awas amazing!
I have been so busy this semster that my shooting time has been so limited. I would get a little time every now and then, but it would only discourage me because I was simply reteaching myself everything I already knew. But, now that I have had two or three shoots a week, I am begining to get so excited. Life is so great, and I can't wait to see where this is going to take me and I can't wait to meet more great people! Thanks for being fun and encouraging Steven!

I have about 3 shoots coming up on the blog within the next week (hopefully) so keep checking in!

What I've been up to...
Hello faithful blog readers! I wanted to stop in and share my latest project. I have had four jobs most of the semester and that part of my life has finally slowed down. I now only work at the Brew and trying to do Photography and school. I have been trying to set up a hosting site where my customers can go and view and purchase their photos. It is a really great site that I found on Jasmine Star's blog (I'm slightly obsessed with her). The site is called SmugMug and is very user friendly and chic. I know that it is going to be great, it is just a little frustrating trying to get it up and going. I apologize to those who are waiting on me to get that going, I promise I'm trying!
I'm so excited about all the new things happening in my business. There are so many things that I have left to learn, and I am so excited to learn. I am working on uploading my last wedding to the site, but wanted to let all the band students and parents know that I have their gallery up, and it is ready for viewing! If you will click here and it should take you right there. Let me know if you have any trouble with anything! My email address is caitlinvaughan31@hotmail.com
Thanks for your patience guys! And just because no post is complete without a picture, here is a pic from the last shoot I had.
Such a precious family!

Sweet Family
She asked me to go to the store with her. "No big deal", I thought to myself, "she said we only have to pick up milk..." . As her mom dropped us by the door, she asked if I thought we needed a basket. "It's only milk right? We can totally handle that". We giggle over to the milk (What? It's what fifth graders do!) and she opens the cooler and starts handing me gallons like we're in an assembly line and have 100 gallons of ice cream to make. "What are you doing??", I asked. "Getting milk!!!", she said in her adorable high pitched little voice. In amazement, we walk out of the grocery store with six gallons of milk (if I remember correctly), and that was just a weeks worth.
You see, the Kellum's are a big family. There's David, Denise, Desley and his beautiful family Jennifer Corban and Si, and then there Derek, Dean and Brooke, D'Anna and D'Nae and Ed. And there is always someone else around that the sweet family has taken under their wing to love and care for. I have never met a larger family. And not just because they have 5 kids, but because they never close their arms. They are always willing to allow God to work through them by loving on anyone that needs it. They have been more than a blessing in my life and I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to capture their beauty as a family and as individuals.
We'll start with these two ADORABLE "chillins"

Sweet, sweet Uncle Ed.

Sweet David and Denise with a grandson...
The boys jumping on a trampoline, so stinkin' cute.
The brothers and sisters (and sister-in-laws!) I love this series...

The boys in the back are devising a plan as the girls fall down...

And off you go!

I hope you enjoyed looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking them. Thanks for being so amazing Kellum's, can't wait to do it again :)

Inspiration and Updates
Everyone is inspired-inspired by someone, somewhere and by something. I knew a woman once. She was everything to me. But more than anything, she inspired me. She inspired me to be a better person, to love, to be graceful, to appreciate good music and so many more things. She was my Aunt Zaphy. Not related by blood-just by spirits. I could talk to her about anything, and no matter what the circumstance, she turned it into a teachable moment, or a blessing. I could go on forever about what she was to me and why she meant to be what she did-but I won’t. A year ago, on October 15, 2008, I lost my Zaphy. And my life was turned upside down and has pretty much stayed that way. Not because I am still mourning, but because her death even inspired me. It inspired me to grow, to learn often, to love harder and to take risks. To start this very business-as a matter of fact. So here I am-growing, learning, loving and taking risks. I miss and love her with all my heart, but I choose this day to be grateful for a life that taught me so much, and for that I am so grateful.
On a photography note-I am still here! My lack of posts makes my little heart sad-but this semester has been nuts! If I’m not working, I am at school, if I am not there I’m doing homework, and if I’m not doing homework I’m trying to see Ryan and my friends and family in the short time that I have off. I am trying to be better, just bare with me for a bit! To prove it, I am going to post a few pics from one of my latest shoots.
This is Brandi and Brett. They got married a few months ago and Brandi needed some Bridals and wanted to give the Day-After Session a shot. I was so excited!! This really was so much fun and I can’t wait for you to see them. Thanks Brandi and Brett for being so understanding with my crazy busy schedule!

Dear Brandi-you're adorble. Love, Caitlin
